Phagwara (Aman Bagga): GNA University Phagwara on Wednesday 14.07.21 inaugurated a rooftop solar project in an offer to switch to green power. The solar power plant has been installed by Eco Global Sales Corp to lessen dependence on thermal and hydro-based electricity.

Inaugration of Solar Plant was done by Ms, Deepti Uppal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala,ADC-cum-Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rajeev Verma and SDM Phagwara MsShayari Malhotra was present at the inaugural ceremony. Power conservation Initiative done under the leadership of S. Gurdeep Sihra, Pro Chancellor GNA University. S. Gurdeep Sihra stated “The new solar power plant will carry enormous relief in cutting down our electricity bills in addition for making the university more ecological.”

GNA University is endeavoring towards making the university greener. The project will provide an opportunity for students to learn their research aspects and alternative energy sources too. Dr. VK Rattan, Vice-Chancellor, GNA University stressed on the need of making utmost utilization of solar power in the state. Dr. R K Mahajan, Registrar, GNA University thanked everyone for successfully completing the project despite adverse conditions and time constraints.Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, GNA University congratulated everyone for this great effort; The University congratulated and acknowledged that solar power plant is one of the attempts to conquer the fossil energy crisis with introducing a new renewable energy.
